sorry!

heyhey guys! (that is if anyone actually reads this blog) so im really sorry ive been m.i.a. for the last 20 days ive been traveling a bunch and unfortunately missed watching nationals live :( but i got all my updates from the ever loyal gymnastike on twitter (sent to my phone :DD) and have since returned to watch around the gym, nbc coverage of nationals, and various interviews and routines that were not televised. so i thought i would go ahead and share a couple thoughts on the meet.
for the majority, the meet was a disaster, not only because of the countless falls but it really proved the lack of depth on the us team. granted team usa still has much more depth than the average team, but it is not to the level we are used to and if there are any more injuries to the top dogs we will be in trouble.

as far as individuals there are several stars emerging, the first of which is katelyn ohashi. in typical woga fashion, katelyn performed difficult, beautiful gymnastics. crazy beam routine, good potential on bars, great on floor, and her double definitely has the potential to become an amanar before 2016. (and extra points for her leo on day 1)

obviously jordyn wieber rocked it, winning the senior title by what 6 points? if she hits (and she rarely misses) she has a great shot at a world aa title. her bars was a little shaky, those connections just arent super smooth yet, but im sure they will be by worlds.

mckayla maroney had a rough day 1, but she proved the gymnast i know she is on day 2. had she not had her mistakes on day 1 she wouldve been much much closer to wieber. her vault is incredible. i cant say enough about it but she is also such an all around gymnast and if wieber falters at all, maroney will be right there

aly raisman once again proved her consistency, but without that amanar there is no way she can challange maroney or wieber. her floor routine has improved a great deal, but her bars leaves her in too deep of a hole to climb out of. shes a great rock to have on the 6 member world team but when the number goes to 5 for the olympics im not sure how good her chances will be. after all, if you take away mckayla's deduction for her fall, she ties with wieber for the best floor score. she even passes wieber if you take out her out of bounds deductions.

asac rocked it as usual, but fell once again on the 2.5 punch lay. what else is new. you'd think she'd realize she needs to change it, get that full in back

chellsie friggin memmel. epic. no other words. bye. but speaking of the beast wtf is this? http://www.prweb.com/releases/Motionwear/ChellsieMemmelCalendar/prweb8727616.htm

anyway, there was much more action but im too soccer pre-season-ed out to recap anything else. but while im at it, my world team prediction is: Jordyn Wieber, Mckayla Maroney, Alicia Sacramone, Chellsie Memmel, Aly Raisman, and Mackenzie Caquatto (Alternates Bridgette Caquatto and Sabrina Vega)
